We invite you to the Kingdom of Tonga, an extraordinary place where you can swim with the famous singing humpback whales in the warm, turquoise waters of the Pacific.
Every year, from June to October, in the calm and tropical waters surrounding the Kingdom of Tonga, migrating humpback whales arrive from Antarctica to reproduce and raise their offspring. This is a unique opportunity to witness and learn about the behavior of these incredible wild creatures in their natural environment. You can observe the bonds forming among them and watch as the curious calves, already a bit bigger, gain confidence and seek interactions with their surroundings. Just the observation from the boat is an incredible experience. We will focus on close encounters in the water, photographing and filming these animals.
Tonga is one of the few places in the world where, by adhering to strict regulations, you can photograph and be in close proximity to these massive yet gentle wild giants. You don't need to be a diver to experience this. Regulations, in the interest of the animals, actually prohibit diving with the whales. All you need is a mask, snorkel, fins, and a waterproof camera or underwater housing.
Every day is a new chance to encounter humpback whales and an opportunity to see something new. Throughout the week, we will spend approximately 7 hours on the water, frequently entering the water. An experienced crew, underwater photographers, and licensed "passionate guides" will accompany us, ensuring that everything is done with respect for nature and local regulations. In addition to humpback whales in the warm and crystal-clear waters of the Pacific, you can also encounter mantas, bottlenose dolphins, dwarf orcas, sperm whales, and with a bit of luck, whale sharks. The underwater world of the Vava'u Islands also features a variety of coral fish, underwater rock formations, canyons, and pristine coral reefs. We invite you to the Kingdom of Tonga.
